Be a student, not a follower.

A FOLLOWER, OR A STUDENT?

You cannot fully live the life you are supposed to live if all you do is follow someone, be directed, or controlled by them. No matter how admirable someone is, no matter how successful they are, they can not lead you into the life of your dreams, if you do not take the lead, the steps, and get on the path towards your own desired destination.

No one ever becomes great by following great men, everyone that has become successful might have been students of great men, rather than their follower. Henry Ford, and Nikola Tesla where students of Thomas Edison, they later became great men in their own rights. They were not followers, rather they worked their way to the top by learning from one of the best they could in their own time.

Followers never rise to become anything, but to remain followers. No matter how high they rise in the ranks, they remain followers and will always be in the shadows of the one who is their master. Students, on the other hand, learn from their teachers, and leaders, they seek to understand the whys, and the hows, they question, and they get answers becoming better in their pursuit and endeavours.

Like Jim Rohn said, "Don't be a follower, be a student; take advice but not orders; take information, but don't let somebody order your life; make sure what you do is the product of your own conclusions." Your life is solely your to determine what will become of it, if you let other people's opinion become the basis for your choices, you will be living your life for them, but leaving yourself to bear the consequences of the outcomes. Be a student, not a follower.
