EMPATHY
Life is not always about ourselves, as a matter of fact, we are not here because of ourselves, but for our world. We should be a source of relief and succor for those who are in difficult situations, and we should actually try to bring solutions to their problems.
We cannot be problems solvers if we are not empathetic, if we do not see ourselves as those we want to help we cannot really help them. Like Alfred Alder said, “Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.” Until we can see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and feel what they feel, we cannot understand what they are going through.
There are always two side to every issue, your own side and the other parties side; the right side and the wrong side; judgements should never be passed without proper understanding of every situation, we must put ourselves in other men's shoes before we conclude on matters relating to others.
BrenĂ© Brown puts it succinctly when she said, "Empathy has no script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘You’re not alone'." There is always someone out there who needs our help, our words of comfort, our message of hope, we must not fail to do our part whenever the need arises.
