Day 366 of wisdom

“I can, I will, I must, I did it.”

John Kamikun

The possibility or impossibility of a thing is dependent on the man that wants to do that thing. There is nothing in the world that a man can conceive to do that will not be possible for him, it may actually seem impossible but as Nelson Mandela said, "it always seems impossible until it is done." what a man can conceive and he believes in its possibility, he will certainly be able to do. The greatest inventions of our time were things that seemed impossible to people but the inventors had a possibility mindset and today we benefit from their inventions.

If you will be determined enough, you can do anything; if you will not quit until it is done, you will achieve whatever you want to achieve; if that thing you want to do is important to you and those around you, and you are committed to seeing it materialise, nothing can ever stop you from doing it; if your will is strong enough, your might will carry you. You might doubt your abilities, you might doubt your skills, and your talents, but if you will in spite of your doubts push yourself into doing, you will definitely accomplish your dreams.

Sometimes the path to that destination may not be clear enough, at other times there may even be no visible path, but as John Burroughs would say, "Leap, and the net will appear." You might have to start the journey to see the path, you might have to start to discover you can, you might have to leap before the net could appear, and if you never leap you would never achieve. A moving snail is better than a sleeping horse, no matter what you have, or who you are, if you do not do, you do not achieve; if you do not move, you do not get anywhere; if you never start, you will never finish.

In the words of Elon Musk who said, "When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favour." The odds being against you does not mean you can't do, it only requires that you show committed and determined efforts to see it happen. If it is important enough, it is worth fighting for, it is worth doing irrespective of where the odds lie. Start where you are, with what you have. Nothing from outside a moving train can stop it but from within itself. You can, you will, if you don't stop, you will succeed.

Day 365 of wisdom

“You can always become better.”

Tiger Woods

In the race to becoming, there is no finish line, life is a continuous journey to a better place, a better future, and a better version of ourselves. The more we move forward the better we become. There is no end to how good we can be and our best is only a function of the limit we set for ourselves. You can always become better than your previous self if you make conscious and determined efforts in the direction of personal growth and development. Every new day and every new level we get to in life always demand a better version of us, and if we fail to measure up to that required standard we will fall short of expectations.

As the popular saying by St. Jerome goes, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best." You always have a chance to become better, there is always room for further improvement, the room for improvement they said, is the largest room in the world. So, always seek improvement and not stagnancy. If you do not become better daily, you become worse. Only you have the authority to decide what and who you become.

All men are born equal, but some men have distinguished themselves by doing what others don't do, they run while others walk, they fly while others run, and while others are sleeping they work. What differentiate some men from others is what they do with their time, their skills, their abilities, and talents. We all have these things in one way or another, but not all of us have put them to use. We allow them waste away while we pursue other things that would make no meaningful impact in our lives and that of others around us.

The better you become the better you will discover you can become, the world is dynamic and exponentially advancing, only those who dare to become better persons will have a say in the constant and consistent changes and growth. Do not be left behind, look not towards the past but align yourself with the realities of the present and look forward to the possibilities of the future. A better you is an everyday possibility, be determined to become better, work towards becoming better and you will certainly become better.

Day 364 of wisdom

“You may not have covered your set tracks but it’s never too late to start.”

Chinonye J. Chidolue

Everyone who starts a journey always start with a goal, a target, and a view of what the end is supposed to be like. Most times it may not be so easy to achieve these goals due to some unforeseen and unforeseeable circumstances that may occur. Sometimes, you even see yourself as being behind on what you should have done, and where you should have been, but one thing you must know is no matter how behind you think you are, no matter how late you are running it is never too late to start.

Did you have dreams for the year that you have not achieved? Did you start the year on a very enthusiastic mode but are now so apathetic about the thing you showed so much enthusiasm about? Have you fallen short of your goals for the year? Did you abandon your project and never started what you planned to start? It is not too late to start, it is not too late to start again. As the popular saying, "it is better late than never" but Drake as an addendum to that saying said, "... never late is better" You should not delay further your start date, start now.

As a Chinese proverb says, "the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the next best time is now." if you had started and never quitted, you could have had the success you so much desired, you could have been reaping the fruits of your labour, but it is still not too late to start, it is not too late to give it another trial, it is only too late when life is no more. Now is the time to start. Today we know, tomorrow we are yet to see, if we do not do today what we can and should do we may not be able to do tomorrow what we ought to do.

Time waits for no man whether he does something or nothing. If you have a project that will reach maturation in five years and you think five years is too long a time to wait for what you want to achieve and you refuse to start, in the next five years you will regret your action of not starting. Whether you start or not five years will come and go and you will either regret or be grateful for your actions or inaction. It is never too late to start something new; it is never too late to make things right; it is never too late to begin again; your dreams are still valid, it is not too late to pursue. It is never too late to change your life, start now and you will only regret not starting earlier.

366 days of wisdom (December 28, 2020)

Day 363 of wisdom

“Everyone is a learner but some men have learnt more than others.”

John Kamikun

No man however knowledgeable he is knows everything in this world, even in his field of endeavour. Life itself is a learning process in which every new day teaches us a new lesson. Many men have become very recognisable authorities in their various fields of endeavour, they know so much that nothing seems to be new or strange to them any longer, but it will surprise one to discover the little things they have not known in that same field or others as may be relevant to their lives.

Everyone on earth learns something new everyday, everyone Is a learner, everyone discovers new horizons, realize new perspectives, and have new experiences, but some men probably as a result of their age, exposure, opportunities, have known and learnt much more than others given them an advantage, and a privilege to bring up, to enlighten, and to expose others to the wealth of knowledge they are already exposed to.

Whatever we have known, whatever we have been exposed to, we must realise that it is only a fragment of what is available for us to know and discover. There is no body of knowledge or endeavour that is limited in scope, we are only limited by the extent to which we can go, by the extent to which we have exposed ourselves to get to. When we realise that our knowledge is only a fragment of what we should have known and are ready to know even more, then life will be a lot better for us, because learning will be continuous thereby bringing about progressive growth and development.

We are all learners on the journey of life, but we must pay due respect to those who know more than we do, and be ready to learn from what they know. A student who is never ready to learn from the teacher will never know anything and will remain stunted in growth. We must learn not just to learn but we must learn to do, to apply and to make the world a better place for everyone. When we learn we must try to learn well, and when we teach others what we have learnt we become better ourselves and know more than we already know. We must continue to learn because the man who does not learn anymore is a man who has ceased to live.

366 days of wisdom (December 27, 2020)

Day 362 of wisdom

“Life is a relay race, I run my part and pass on the baton.”

Ubong King

No one man can run the race of life all by himself, life's journey is a relay race where one has to run his part and pass the baton to the person who is to carry on in the race. Man's history has been a story of an unending strive for a better world, everyone who has tread the surface of the earth has at their own time run the race the best way they can and has either passed on the baton to the person who is to carry on, or dropped it off at a point where no one else can carry on with their work.

Success is not what you make of yourself, it is not the things you acquire, it is not the heights you get to, it is basically what you make of others, what you give to others, what others see and perceive of you, and how you influence their lives. Whatever you do as a person, your achievements and successes are not worth much if you cannot develop people who will do what you have done or even more. It is the hallmark of great leaders to create more leaders who will outdo, outperform, and outshine them in every area of their endeavours.

We don't have all the time in the world to live for as long as we want, we do not determine how long we live, or when we go, it is beyond our powers to know that, but what we can do, what we have the power to do is how we spend the little time we have in this world. We can either live to fulfil our destinies and help others discover and fulfil theirs thereby leaving a legacy for others to follow and run towards after we have gone, or we can choose to live only for our selves and go without having any impact on the world we have left.

Life is is short trip on a long journey, and its end leads to an unending destination, we must live our brief lives for a long lasting impact on our world, and in preparation for eternal destination. We must do our part the best way we can, lift the people we can, give as much as we can, and make as much people as we can smile, bringing happiness and love to their hearts. The race is not a sprint, it is a relay, do not drop off the baton just anywhere but in the right hands for them to carry on the race.

366 days of wisdom (December 26, 2020)

Day 361 of wisdom

“If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.”

Henry Miller

Peace is not something that we derive from outside our being, peace emerges from within us, we feel it within us and it is spread to all those who are around us. We do not derive peace from the things we have, the things we gather or obtain, we can only derive peace from what we become. Whatever we have is nothing compared to who we are and who we are becoming. Whatever we have we can lose, but who we become we can never lose, it is the only thing we are guaranteed to keep for ever.

Money can buy you almost anything in the world, definitely not all things, but principal among the things money can't buy is peace. We become who we are by what we do not what others do to us or for us, and if what we do gives us peace, if what we do is accompanied by serenity we should do that thing over and over again. We should be more concerned about the feeling that we call out from others, it is what determines if we will feel peace or feel disturbed. If you make another man happy, you will feel peace, but if you make someone else cry peace will evade you.

Be a person who never allows anger to overcome him; be a person who ignore things that are irrelevant; be a person who is satisfied with what he has; be a person who takes life as it comes, who live life one day at a time; be a person who is calm in the face of overwhelming challenges, these are the greatest secrets to having inner peace. In the words of Lhamo Thondup, the fourteenth Dalai Lama who said, "We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves." Once you are at peace with who you are, your life will be overwhelmingly peaceful.

Strive not to gather much, strive not to acquire plenty, but strive to become the person who you have always wanted to become, strive not to be what others want you to be but who you want for yourself. You are the closest person to yourself, before anyone benefits from or face the consequences of who you are, of who you have become you will be first to taste of it. So, become, not just for others but for yourself. Be you, peace comes form inside you, do not seek it elsewhere.

366 days of wisdom (December 25, 2020)

Day 360 of wisdom

“Love sacrifices all things to bless the thing it loves.”

Edward Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton

Love: the source of life, the purpose of life, and the sustainer of life is the most important and most powerful force in the world. It is a virtue that supercedes and gives strength to all other virtues. Love is the only thing that you give to others that can never be lost, wasted, or even die. Love is the best thing anyone can give or receive in life, without love life will be like a journey through the wilderness without light, without a map, without a companion.

Love is not possible without sacrifice. Someone who cannot sacrifice something for the greater good of others cannot love. Love does not seek to please itself at all times, it does not consider only what is good for itself, but what is good for all, it sacrifices itself for the good of others. As Joseph Campbell would say, "When you make the sacrifice in marriage (any mutual relationship), you are sacrificing not to each other but to unity in a relationship." Any relationship that is built on sacrificial love is a relationship that will thrive and last long.

Parents sacrifice a lot to ensure their children get the best of everything they need to become whatever they want to become in life; parties in a relationship sacrifice so much in their time, character, attitude, and tolerance to keep the relationship intact for the good of everyone; a seed is sacrificed to get a tree full of fruits. Sacrifice is the foundation and the basis of all growth and great achievements. Sacrifice is the reason the whole world celebrates a day like this, it is a day in which love is shared and the sacrifice of the Creator is being appreciated by all creatures.

If we would achieve anything great in our world, if we would grow beyond the usual we must be ready to sacrifice greatly. As Napoleon Hill once said, "Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness." Selfishness never birth anything great, the highest result that can be achieved through selfishness is just one pocket full of substance that will fade away in no time, but great sacrifice will always produce great achievements that will benefit many beyond the expectation of even the ones who have made the sacrifice. Love sacrifices everything and blesses everything it loves.

366 days of wisdom (December 24, 2020)

Day 359 of wisdom

“We are born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we are not alone.”

Orson Welles

The whole of life would have been a very lonely adventure were it not for the opportunity to love and have friends. All the course of nature comes upon people individually, but the people around the individuals will always in a way or the other be affected by the effects of these forces of nature. We came into the world alone, we might live a lonely life either by choice or by circumstances, and we will die alone, but when we love and receive love, we create an atmosphere of companionship.

On the words of Henry Van Dyke who said, "Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity." Love is the only thing that gives time value, without love nothing is worth doing, but in love we fight for those around us wanting to become, and to make life less difficult, more beautiful, and more enjoyable for everyone. Love is the source and the end of everything good.

We cannot say we love if all we care for is what we want from people and what we can get from them. Love is not just about ourselves it is about the other person. As Leo Buscaglia said, "Love is always bestowed as a gift - freely, willingly and without expectation. We don't love to be loved; we love to love." The kind of love that is always expectant is not love at all, it is greed, selfishness, and avariciousness. Love gives without asking in return, love considers not his gains but that of others.

It was Charles Morgan who said, "There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved: It is God's finger on man's shoulder." When you love, you bring God into action, you activate an atmosphere of unity, growth, miracles and peace, and God enjoys working in such atmosphere. There can be no greater power on earth than the power of love. Love heals, love cures, love grooms, love has no limits, it recognises no age, and love never dies. Love not for getting love in return, love because you have to love, it is the whole essence of humanity.

366 days of wisdom (December 23, 2020)

Day 358 of wisdom

“Enthusiasm... the sustaining power of all great action.”

Samuel Smiles

Greatness is not achieved by any means other than through the path of determination, dedication, and focus. One thing that keeps these three afloat and alive is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the intense eagerness and interest applied towards ensuring the actualisation of a particular dream or purpose. It is the mother of all great achievements, as Ralph Waldo Emerson would say, "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." Without enthusiasm there would be an abortion of so many dreams before it is birth.

Talent alone is not enough, skills cannot do the magic, but enthusiasm will provide the drive, the will, the determination, and guts to keep on going for what you desperately want irrespective of surrounding circumstances. It is like a fuel that keeps the engine rolling. When everything seems difficult, and impossible let your enthusiasm keep you going; when you have tried over and over without the results you wanted, never let your enthusiasm go low. If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well, it is worth fighting for, it is worth finishing.

As Samuel Ullman once said, "Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul." Never let your enthusiasm be sapped out of you by anything or anyone. The man who never loses his enthusiasm is the man who will consistently and unfailingly achieve everything he has set out to do, he will always get what he wants as long as he goes for it with the same enthusiasm.

Even if you do foolish things, do them with enough enthusiasm, you will one day in the foolishness do something that will bring a major transformation into the world. Thomas Edison was on the track of foolishness until he successfully invented the light bulb. Whatever your mind and heart has found peace, pleasure and comfort doing, do it wholeheartedly, do it so much that it brings you to the point where you are considered obsessed about it. Fail, fail, and fail again but keep your enthusiasm intact.

366 days of wisdom (December 22, 2020)

Day 357 of wisdom

“If you are alive, there's a purpose for your life.”

Rick Warren

The purpose of a thing is the reason for which that thing was created and is existing. There is nothing in life that exists for no reason, everything that exists has a purpose, a why for its existence. Even the seemingly useless things of this world exists for a purpose for which we may not be fully aware of. The fact that you are alive today further complements the case for the purpose of your existence. You were not created to just pass by the earth without making positive impacts that would make the world a better place even after you have gone.

What you are currently doing is for a purpose, the things you have done in the past had a purpose, the things you will still do will all be centered and directed towards achieving the purpose for which you were created. We must know the reason we were brought here at the time we are here, we must strive to understand our purpose because, until we do so, life will never make sense. The man that does not understand or know the purpose for his existence has not started living.

Every passing day should always be lived for the purpose of your existence, your life is not just about you, it is about everyone around you. You were not created for yourself but for the world. So, you must live in a way that will fulfil these purposes or else you will be living in vain, you will be living a wasted life. Your primary purpose in life is to live a life of purpose, and if you are yet to discover your purpose it is your duty to do so. A life lived on purpose can not just do anyhow, a life lived on purpose will always be driven by his purpose towards achieving greatness.

You are alive today because there is something you must do, if you are not already doing it you must start as soon as possible; If you don't even know what to do, you must find and start doing it; if you are already on the track of purpose, you must continue and never relent. Life is a marathon not a sprint and until you get to the end of the road you cannot stop running. In the words of Amit Ray "It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received. It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters" Possession is secondary, purpose is paramount and primary.

366 days of wisdom (December 21, 2020)

Day 356 of wisdom

“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

It was Albert Einstein that said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same results. Growth is not achieved when a man refuse to do something other than what he himself has become a master of. Unless you learn new skills, implement new ideas, and find a different way of doing the things you have always done in a certain way, you will never grow. It is stagnation to continue to do what you are already a master of, but growth to do a new thing even if you will first be a novice at it.

Old ways never lead to new destinations, they never open new doors, the only way to newness is a different approach, a new one, a better one. No one can ever become what they want to be by remaining who they are, the only way to a better self is striving to become a better person, you cannot yield new results if you continue to do the things you have always done, and every new level you attain in life will always demand a better, more sophisticated, and upgraded version of you.

Anyone who wants to achieve greatly must dare greatly to be different, unique and flexible. Rigidity is the first recipe for stunted growth, but dynamism guarantees the invention of new ideas and the man who wants to have what others won't have must do what others won't do. You must be determined to have a different life, a better one, a more pleasant and enjoyable one, and be willing, ready, and hungry enough to give all it will take to achieve it. Life does not give us what we deserve it gives us what we bargain for, so fight for what you want, go after the better life, look beyond the now into the future and you will discover the hidden treasures of your true self.

Try the new route, explore new horizons, move beyond what you have always done, learn new ways. The only way be ahead is to keep moving, and when you are master of a craft, it is sometimes difficult to see anything ahead of you, you feel like you have reached the end of the road, but when you pick up something new and engage in a new enterprise, craft, and venture you open the door to a whole new level of your being. As someone once said, "everything in your life is a reflection of the choices you have made, if you want a different result, make a different choice."

366 days of wisdom (December 20, 2020)

Day 355 of wisdom

“There is no way to peace; peace is the way.”

A. J. Muste

There is no way by which we can bring peace to the world other than to make peace the pivot of everything we do. The world as we have it need all the peace it can get, there are so many aspects of human endeavours that needs peace, and we cannot have peace unless we give peace a chance. We cannot force down peace through the throat of any man, peace is not something that is forcefully achieved, it is a phenomenon that requires the understanding of every party involved in an situation.

John F. Kennedy once said, "Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures." The understanding between parties involved in a venture will foster the growth of peace between them and also extend to the parties around them, it will make them see beyond their differences and start to see the things that binds them together. We all are of one tribe, origin, and race, but we have allowed irrelevancies to severe the ties between us, we must give peace the chance to reign among us.

In the words of Hafsat Abiola who said, “Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.” As much as we want to be a change maker, someone who drives and push for the peaceful coexistence of humanity, we must also give others the opportunity to in their own ways contribute to the growth and advancements of humanity, this is the greatest recipe for peace.

It is not the responsibility of a few to ensure peace in the world, it is not in the hands of a few to make our lives better, it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to be determined to make peace reign regardless of the situations that surrounds us. We must be concerned about the wellbeing and happiness of everyone as much as we do of ourselves. “Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.” ~ Lhamo Thondup (Dalai Lama XIV).

366 days of wisdom (December 19, 2020)

Day 354 of wisdom

“In life, as in chess, forethought wins.”

Charles Buxton

Life is like a game of chess, one move affects the next. Every move must be carefully thought out and all possible outcomes must be considered before any step is taken. In life we must not make moves without proper futuristic thoughts, one move will always determine the next, and a bad move will destroy the prospect of better moves as it might not leave an opportunity for one to retrace and retract your initial bad move, thereby forcing one to make a series of more bad moves.

Brian Tracy once said, “Every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives you a 1000 percent return on energy.” before taking any action, planning and forward thinking is very important to the successful execution of whatever you plan to do. Moments of planning saves a lot of execution time, and failing to plan might ultimately lead to a failed execution. You cannot embark on a journey without knowing exactly where you are going and how to get there, or how to get to the place where you will discover how to get to your main destination.

The Great French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte said, "Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in." You cannot win any battle until you have planned and deliberated on how that battle will be won, you cannot win in life until you have sat down and thought of the way forward, until you have examined the circumstances ahead of you and device means by which you will overcome these circumstances, and when the time for action is ripe, never wait a second more. Without forethought, life is a lost battle.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, “Few people have any next, they live from hand to mouth without a plan, and are always at the end of their line.” Do not be among the many who just go through life aimlessly, not knowing what to do next, but be a person of focus, determination, and purpose. Pursue that which you desire with all you have and never relent until you achieve your goals. The battle will always be fierce and tough, but with a definite plan and perseverance, success is guaranteed.

366 days of wisdom (December 18, 2020)

Day 353 of wisdom

“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.”

Steven Spielberg

Mentoring is not the quest to create in others what we have become, it is the thoughtful exposure of others to who they are and aught to be, making them discover their true potential and actualising their dreams and visions. When we are privileged or have the opportunity to be a mentor to someone, we are not to force our beliefs, principles, ideologies upon them but we are to open their eyes to the pathway for them to discover, form, and develop their own beliefs, principles, and ideologies. Mentors are not supposed to create a brand of themselves in another man, but to unveil the true brand of another man.

As a mentor, it may be difficult to not want to make your mentee follow directly in your footsteps, but it is very important that you overcome this urge to always want to make your mentee follow your style and pattern, because trying to do so would not be mentoring but torturing. It will be trying to make of a Tilapia a fully grown Catfish instead of making the Tilapia grow into a fully successful, fulfilling and goals shattering Tilapia.

Thich Nhat Hanh once said, “You cannot transit wisdom and insight to another person. The seed is already there. A good teacher touches the seed, allowing it to wake up, to sprout, and to grow.” A good mentor realizes that there is a seed within the man whom he is to mentor and his main focus should be awakening that seed, nurturing it, and allowing it to grow into what it should really be. There is a light within every man, but some men lack that person to switch on that light to lighten the world.

For those who need you to guide them on their path to the discovery of their true self, do not be a faulty compass to mislead them onto a path less fulfilling; for those who look up to you for nurturing, grooming, and coaching, do not be a torn in the flesh. Be a true model for growth and development, be an helper who pushes others towards their dreams and destiny, be a ladder to help others rise to the top and become who they were created to be. Life is not all about what you make of yourself but what you make of others.

366 days of wisdom (December 17, 2020)

Day 352 of wisdom

“The right to do something does not mean that doing it is right.”

William Safire

Every man has the right to do whatever he likes, mostly within the ambit of the law, and sometimes unlawfully. You choose to do whatever you want to do at any time you want to do it, but in exercising your right one thing is needful to be considered, is it right to do it even if it is my right? There is a huge difference between what is right, and your right. That thing you consider your right may be something that will hurt someone else, bring discomfort to someone else, discourage, destroy, and inconvenience another person. Of what good would it be to you if your right does damage to someone else in any way.

As former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair once said, "Sometimes it is better to lose and do the right thing than to win and do the wrong thing." We should be more concerned about what is right than our right, there is more honour in losing doing the right thing than to win failing to do what is right. Carl Ludwig Long was a German Athlete turn soldier who helped his competitor Jesse Owens in an Olympic qualifying round through words of advice after he faced threat of not qualifying.

Seeing the potentials of his competition and the possibility of being knocked out of the tournament, Long gave Owens valuable advice that made him qualify for the next round in that tournament and eventually won the event beating the heavily favoured Long. This act angered the German authorities and made Long fall short of favours from his countrymen. They later became very good friends. Though it was not in his favour to help out a competitor especially during a competition, Long did what he thought was right.

What are you most concerned about? Are you more interested in doing what benefits only you even at the detriment of others? Is selfishness your driving force? There is more to life than personal gains. Many lives are hinged on your actions and inactions, you better decide and be determined to do what is right. If the right thing is the order of the day, then the world will be a better place to stay. Do the right thing.

366 days of wisdom (December 16, 2020)

Day 351 of wisdom

“In times of rapid change, experience could be your worst enemy.”

J. Paul Getty

Experience as good, and as required in most endeavours in life could be the bane of growth and development. Experience is very important and necessary if one wants to grow in life, it is needed to sail through some situations that may not be easy to face, and it can sometimes be very expensive. Experience is having gone through a way just to realize how short the distance is. We must consciously seek experience, it helps you know better the consequences of actions taken and not taken, and teaches you how to better your deeds.

In a period when things are changing very fast and new trends, events, technology, and innovation are taking over the world, we must not allow the experiences of the past deter us from growing into a better person, we must not be limited by what we know as it might have been faced out by the things which were not available when we knew them. We must employ flexibility in our daily activities and engagements, it will help us adapt quickly to the changing times and events, it will help us key more into the trends than be left behind.

The speed with which things change in our world today will demand us to do more than we should normally do if we want to get ahead, as Lewis Carroll would say "My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that." To keep up with the pace of change, we must continue to run, but to get ahead of the moment, to move forward you have to double your speed, but experience cannot allow you do so.

Do not despise acquiring experience neither should your experiences limit you from flowing with the tides of change. It is dangerous to remain rigid when flexibility is highly required, it is risky to relax when we should be doubling up. Life is a marathon not a sprint, there is no end to how much adaptation you must endure, there is no limit to the lessons we must learn, there is no end until it is over. Do not let your experiences limit your progress, but always upgrade your experience to enhance your growth.

366 days of wisdom (December 15, 2020)

Day 350 of wisdom

“All the things that are worth doing, take time.”

Yasiin Bey (Mos Def)

No one has ever done anything great, anything worth doing in just a moment. Everything great, everything that has made a huge impact in the world, anything worthy of note and recognition has been done and achieved over a reasonable length of time. Nothing happens by mistake, or accident everything happens on purpose. Everything that is worth doing always take time, it always demands hard work, determination, and consistency.

The 26th President of the United States of America, Theodore Roosevelt once said, "Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well." a great and successful life is never a result of easy living, it does not arise from laziness and nonchalance, it only comes through facing and overcoming difficulties.

You might have been on a project, journey or endeavour to achieving a particular dream for a long time and you are yet to arrive at your destination or achieve that dream, never consider giving up, never quit. You must always remember that whatever is worth doing, a dream or purpose that is worth achieving always take time and is always worth it. A dog delivers her offspring after just about two months of pregnancy, but an elephant does same after almost two years of pregnancy. The results of both pregnancy are obviously not the same, there is more to an elephant than it is in a dog.

If the expected day of delivery on your dreams is not forthcoming, if the results you expect to see within a period of time is not realized in due time, it is not enough reason to quit, it should only remind us that something bigger, better, and more rewarding than your expectation is on the way, continue doing what you have been doing and should be doing, and always look forward to the day of delivery. Wait for it, everything that is worth doing, everything that is worth achieving takes time.

366 days of wisdom (December 14, 2020)

Day 349 of wisdom

“It is while you are patiently toiling at the little tasks of life that the meaning and shape of the great whole of life dawn on you.”

Phillips Brooks

For every big picture there was first a brush stroke, every great achievement started from a small piece of action, every big person grew from a baby. Wherever a man wants to get to, he must first start from somewhere, he must begin by doing the small things, by climbing from the first rung of the ladder, and going up to the zenith. Without the humble, small, and almost inconsequential beginnings there will hardly be any great accomplishments by humans, it would have been impossible for man to get to heights dreamed of.

Sometimes, you are not so sure of the purpose for which you are where you are today, you may ponder and wonder if you are actually on track, but one thing is sure, there is a reason for where you are now, and you can fulfil that purpose only if you do what is necessary for your current state. Life is in stages, one stage requires a particular version of you, the next stage will demand of you a better version of yourself, and the higher you go in stages, the better you become and the clearer you see what is ahead of you.

Live each day at a time, never look away from the little things, they make up the big things. Everything that is today big is a constellation of little things done over time. As Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would say, "It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important." Without the little things, there cannot be the great, mighty, and big things. Greatness is not the achievement of great things at once, it is being great in the execution and doing of little things.

Most of the great men of our days and days gone by were men who were busy doing little things in their little corner, it is while being busy in performing these little tasks they discovered the bigger tasks they were eventually known for. Your current position may be small, your responsibilities may be little, but keep at it wholeheartedly. It is on the line of duty at the little tasks of life that that the meaning and shape of the great whole of life dawn on you. Keep pushing in the little, the whole will surely and soon be revealed.

Day 348 of wisdom

“What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?”

George Eliot

Everyday the world welcomes newborns, and although we all do not come into the world at the same time, we all are born for a purpose. However, our purposes are diverse and different in many ways but it is all to serve and achieve one universal goal: making life easier to live for each other. No man was born for himself alone, the fact that someone had to carry you in her womb for nine months says it all. Most of that nine months and some years after was about you, they were moments that was sacrificed to see you develop, grow, and become a fully grown human.

We are all meant to lead lives of impact, we were meant to make live easier for each other, we were meant to fuse our visions and purposes into one universal and globally beneficial course for all of humanity. As Ralph Waldo Emerson would say, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." If all who lived before us had lived for themselves, we would not have the world we now have, if they had been concerned only about what they can get from life and not what they can give to the world, our world will not be this good for us to live in, but they lived for something beyond themselves, and today we benefit from their works.

You are not supposed to just stay alive, you are not supposed to just live, you are supposed to be an agent of positive change, you are supposed to fulfil your purpose, you are supposed to live for something greater than yourself. Do not be satisfied with just succeeding, making money, and gathering wealth, there is more to your life than that, there are destinies hanging on the fulfillment of your purpose, if you fail them, for what have you lived?

In the words of Mother Teresa "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." The best way to make the world a better place for all is to spread love, to care for the needy, to support the once who are weak, and bring smile to every face that comes in contact with you. The best job any one can do in the world is to make another man happy, the best gift you can give a man is a smile, so, wherever you go, whatever you do, show some love, spread some cheer.

366 days of wisdom (December 12, 2020)

Day 347 of wisdom

“The battleline between good and evil runs through the heart of every man.”

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

In the heart of every man is a constant battle between good and evil for that which will sit on the throne of his heart. It is an unending battle and whatever wins today may loose the battle tomorrow. This battle is inevitable as Eric Burdon said, "Inside each of us, there is the seed of both good and evil. It's a constant struggle as to which one will win. And one cannot exist without the other." This fight for supremacy, superiority, and rule is what makes us human, if it ceases we cease to be human.

This battleline between good and evil is so thin and flimsy that one can easily confuse one for the other or cross the line without even noticing it. We must be very careful how we make our decisions, and what inspires those decisions. As in any battle, the strongest contender always wins, so, whichever you feed the most, whichever you concentrate on the most, whichever is been given the most priority will become stronger and ultimately win the battle. You therefore have to consider wisely what you concentrate on, what you feed your mind with, and what you want for your life, it all culminates into who wins this battle.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said these words also about good and evil "If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?" Every man has the tendency to do good and evil, but the man himself determines what he does, he determines who wins the battle.

We must always fight for good to win the battle within us, we must always remember that the world needs more good people than evil people, we must understand that the world is in dire need of peace, and peace doesn't come from evil, it is bred only in an environment where good reigns. Be determined to be an ambassador for peace, not in title but in deeds, let love rule within you, consider others as much as you do yourself. You can make the world a better place when you are determined to let good win over evil, it is the only thing that could guarantee a better world.

366 days of wisdom (December 11, 2020)

Day 346 of wisdom

“Forever is composed of nows.”

Emily Dickinson

The tomorrow you spoke about yesterday is the today you now live in. Every new day is a slice of the forever you are expecting and what you do with today will determine how the rest of forever will be like. The forever of anything starts the day that thing comes into existence, and it does not just come suddenly it unfolds daily and passes daily. So, if you have a plan for tomorrow you must start to work on that plan today for today was once tomorrow and tomorrow will eventually become yesterday.

Whatever a man intends to do, whatever dreams and visions he has for his life, he has to start to do now. Every moment that is called now is the only guaranteed moment anyone would have, tomorrow may never come, and even if it does, one might not get there. So, today is all you have, use it the best way you can, and when you eventually get to tomorrow do the best you can, do your best in every day, and when tomorrow comes, you will reap the reward of all you have done.

Roy T. Bennett once said, "If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present." the past is gone, it cannot do you anymore good, the future is yet uncertain, only in today we live and what we do in it determines our happiness and unhappiness. Today is the only gift we have, unwrap it, use it wisely. All of your past and all of your unknown future combined cannot make you happy, the only key to your happiness is how you use today.

The future ahead of you is bright if you make good use of your today, a compilation of all your nows will determine how the rest of your forever will turn out. Whatever you love to do, do it now; the beginning of every good thing is always now; you should have started yesterday, but you have now, so start; no other time is as clear and useful as now, every other time is either wasted or expected. In the words of Jay Asher who said, "You can't stop the future, you can't rewind the past, the only way to learn the secret, ...is to press play." Just press play, just live your life, begin now and forever will get itself sorted.

366 days of wisdom (December 10, 2020)

Day 345 of wisdom

“No one can build his security upon the nobleness of another person.”

Willa Cather

Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truthfulness, or ability of someone or something, it is not a skill, a talent, a style, or a technique, it is purely of character. Every relationship is always founded and/or sustained by trust, be it family, friendship, business, or personal partnership, trust, the absence or presence of it can either make or mar a relationship. A relationship without trust is a relationship headed for the drains, but a relationship based on trust is a relationship without limits, it is a relationship that is destined to make great things happen.

As important as trust is, it is not to be cheaply bestowed upon everyone and anyone. As a matter of fact, no one however noble, seemingly reliable, or trustworthy should be too trusted. Before you trust someone, ensure you have known enough about such persons to the extent to which you can place your trust in him for that time. If someone was trustworthy yesterday, before you trust him again today be sure he is still the person you can trust because, people change and sometimes those changes are caused by factors they can't control and even if they can, changes are based on choices.

The finite nature of man makes him susceptible to some circumstances that can be beyond his control, so, as much as you should trust people, never rule out the possibility of being disappointed, it may be inevitable, yet, you must find someone to trust, you cannot be in a relationship and not trust the other party, although they must proof themselves trustworthy, and without relationships progress and success will only be a mirage. As Ernest Hemingway would say, "The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them." You don't know if someone is trustworthy if you don't trust them, trust begat trust.

One person you can always trust is yourself, even though you can disappoint yourself, you still always have to trust yourself to get to where you want to be. Your surest security is the trust in your ability, your talents, your skills, and your wit to do what you want do, and get to where you to get to. No other ally is as trustworthy as yourself, you are your own best ally. Whatever happens trust whoever deserves your trust, but as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe would say, "Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live".

366 days of wisdom (December 09, 2020)

Day 344 of wisdom

“The things which are most important don't always scream the loudest.”

Bob Hawke

Wisdom, it is said to be the principal thing, meaning, of all virtues a man must have, wisdom supercedes all, but one thing about wise men is this, they are never seen or heard to talk about their wisdom, they never brag about the depths of knowledge they possess, but their deeds, acts, actions, and utterances will tell you what they are made of. It is not so for the foolish man. The foolish man goes about blabbing about what he has, thinking himself to be wise but unknowingly declaring and propagating his foolishness.

People who know nothing or the least about a thing are most times the most outspoken on that subject, they always want to be heard despite their awareness of how little, and shallow their knowledge of such things are, they are not interested in making a difference or bringing a solution to whatever problem that is to be solved, all they are concerned about is to be heard. Still waters run deep, they say, but shallow rivers always produce so much sound. Empty cans, when dropped on the ground makes a lot of noise, but drop a can filled with substance on that same spot, it will make very little sound.

Rich men are never seen to show off their wealth or ever interested in anything of such, but poor men always want to show off the latest item they acquire, they want the world to know what they have, but they have so little to show off. A talkative soon runs out of meaningful words and continues uttering stupid and irrelevant words, but a knowledgeable man is of few words. It is not in the quantity of words, it is the quality that matters; it is not in the lengthy of time spent with someone or on something, it is in the effect made.

In everything you do be careful not to attach more importance to blabbing, never be deceived by the noise, but take your time to know and discover the things which are most important. Don't be a noise maker yourself, but always endeavour to prove your worth, and why you should be a choice. Never force people into accepting or believing who you are or what you said, make them do so through what they see and hear. Fill yourself with knowledge, information, and solutions, and you will be sought after, be known for your content not for your noise.

366 days of wisdom (December 08, 2020)

Day 343 of wisdom

“I am a great believer that you had to do everything you've done to have got to where you are.”

Bill Bryson

Getting to where you are today is not by accident or chance, it has taken the gradual process of living the way you have lived to get you to the point you are today. Good or bad, your actions and inactions have brought you to the place you now find yourself today. In life, what you sow is what you reap, never think you can sow negatives and reap positives, never believe you can sow evil and reap good. If you are experiencing a good life today, your deeds and acts of yesterday are obvious.

There is a path that leads to every destination, the path you thread takes you to its own destination, whether you are pleased by that destination or not. We are most times not privileged to know what is ahead of us, we do not know where we are headed, but we always have signs giving us a clue as to where we might possibly end the journey we have embarked on. If we do not like the signs we see, if they are not pointing us towards the direction we desire, we can always change our course.

Steve Jobs in his commencement speech delivered at Stamford in 2005 said, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." A similar quote by Søren Kierkegaard says “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” You may not understand why you have to pass through some of the things you are passing through today, but eventually some day in the future it will be clear why it was so.

As much as so many unexplainable circumstances may rise in our day to day living which may lead us to some kind of unexpected favour, breakthrough and success, we must endeavour to live our lives based on the visions we have for our future, we must lead a purposeful life, and be conscious of where we are headed. In everything you do always ask yourself if what you are doing is taking you in the direction of your dreams or otherwise. What you did yesterday have gotten you where you are today, what you do today will take you to where you should be tomorrow, so do well.

366 days of wisdom (December 07, 2020)

Day 342 of wisdom

“Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.”

Samuel Butler

Life is a long process of learning how to live. Everyman at birth has no idea of what living entails, as he grows he learns to live, the older he gets he clamours for a better way of living, a better life, a more perfect life, but one thing is true and certain, no one ever lives a perfect live, no one ever achieves that state of satisfaction. Every new day comes with new challenges, new lessons, and new mountains to conquer and depending on the lessons and experience of yesterday may not always get you out of those challenges until you learn what that day demands of you.

The more you live, the more you learn how to live and the better your life becomes. No one will live your life, only you have the right to live your life, and whatever you make of it is entirely yours to bear. Toba Beta once said, "Getting older makes you no wiser, but number of lessons that learned." The more you live, the more you know, the wisdom you gather as you grow older is not in the number of years you have lived, it is in the number of lessons you have learnt. Life teaches you in ways that no teacher can ever teach, experiences gathered can never be bought with money or any material thing, living is the best form of learning.

Mandy Hale gave in apt and concise words this piece of advice, she said, "You will learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though everybody is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.

In everything you do, be yourself; whatever decisions you make, let is originate from within you; make every passing day an opportunity to learn something new; never take any lesson for granted, you might not know the day of the examination. Do today what is needed to be done in today, when tomorrow comes do in it what is required of you. If you live your life one day at a time, you will at the end of the day have lived a fulfilled and worthy life. Live, learn, and grow.

366 days of wisdom (December 06, 2020)

Day 341 of wisdom

“You are precisely as big as what you love and precisely as small as what you allow to annoy you.”

Robert Anton Wilson

There are no perfect relationships of any sort, every relationship that seems perfect has found a way to work on their weaknesses and major more on their strengths. There is a saying that "as close as the tongue and the teeth are, they sometimes do not agree". A man's true character is not revealed when he is in good terms with the people with whom he relates, but when there seems to be a little misunderstanding or disagreement between them. How he reacts to minor issues tell so much of who he truly is.

Someone who is annoyed at the wrong done to him by another person due to his imperfections has himself revealed to the world his own imperfection, if he was perfect and faultless, he would not take the fault of another person so seriously so as to be annoyed by it. We may do wrong, but unintentionally. Any wrong done intentionally is an act of purposeful wickedness and should be vehemently challenged and corrected by all means.

Do not allow yourself be controlled by anger, anger never ends well. Anani Sunday, the Author of 'My marriage my work' once said, "Anger misuses a man briefly and then releases him to see clearly, the consequences of his misguided actions." You may think within yourself that your anger can be justified, but even to you it is a thorn in the heart, piercing it and causing injuries in it; it is like a flood, washing away your peace and happiness; it is one of the closest ways of experiencing hell on earth.

You are as high as what you love, what makes you happy, the things you truly cherish, and you are as low as the things that annoys you, the little things that makes you lose your mind and cause you to behave in an irrational and unreasonable manner. Never act on instinct rather, always pause before you act, give yourself some moments of thought before you act and you will always act right. Do not let yourself be reduced by the ridiculous reducers of human, but keep yourself on the height of respect, prestige and reasonable actions, it is the best you can do for yourself and everyone around you.

366 days of wisdom (December 05, 2020)

Day 340 of wisdom

“I love those who yearn for the impossible.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

It was a general believe in the world that it was not possible for someone to run a mile in four minutes. On 6th of May 1954, during a meet between British AAA and Oxford University at Iffley Road Track in Oxford, 25-year-old medical student Roger Bannister cracks this track and field's most notorious barrier by running a mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds. Just 46 days later, on 21 June another athlete, John Landy broke this record with a time of 3 minutes 58 seconds. Today over 20000 people has broken the 4-Minute Mile barrier.

The problem you want to solve is the greatest pointer to the possibility of the solution. If you dream so big that people you share your dreams with tell you it is not possible, never believe them. Do not let anybody tell you you can not do something, If people can't do something they want to make you believe it is impossible, they might even be so jealous about your dreams that they would want to talk you out of it, but you have to hold on to it. Possibility starts with the believe in oneself. You have to believe that you can be what you want to be or do that which you want to do without failing. Even if you fail, you have to accept it as a step forward towards your dream and try again.

Failure is the result of a work or process that should not be repeated and it is not final unless you quit. You have to trust yourself that you can create a world you will be happy with, because, our aspirations are our possibilities. As Miguel de Cervantes would say, "in order to attain the impossible, one must attempt the absurd." If you do not try to do what others have not done, you can never do what others have not done.

Theodore Roethke said, "What we need is more people who specialize in the impossible." The best way to get things done, even the seemingly impossible, is to do it anyways, attempt doing what they say cannot not be done, and before you realise you will be doing what they never thought you can do. Believe in yourself, and act on your believe, there is no impossibility to him who will try anything. Life is a risk and without taking risk no tangible progress can be achieved.

366 days of wisdom (December 04, 2020)

Day 339 of wisdom

“The greatest of faults, I should say, is to be conscious of none.”

Thomas Carlyle

Imperfections are the true reflection of your humanity, you were not born to be perfect, you were born to be you. You were born to deal with your imperfections your own way and overcome them. There is no man who is without fault, and it will be the height of ignorance to say you have no faults. There is no greater fault than believing and thinking you are faultless. You must learn to embrace your faults and grow in spite of it. Our imperfections are the things that makes us perfect, our insecurities should birth security for us, and our weakness should drive strength towards us.

Someone once said, “I am perfect in my imperfections, secure in my insecurities, happy with my choices, strong in times of weakness and beautiful in my own way. I am myself.” If you do not accept who you are, you will not become who you should be; you will always run around wanting to become who you are not hence, deviating from who you should be. Your imperfection does not make you any less than a human, it is a confirmation of it. The perfect man is a dead man, he is the man who has nothing to learn, develop and build, he is the man who can never become better than he is, and such person lives not on the surface of the earth.

Be conscious of your faults, know them like you know yourself, know why you have them, how you got them, and take practical steps towards changing them. Be deliberate in your quest to make a change, keep your focus on the goal. Life is a continuous learning cycle, the more you live, the more you learn, and the day you cease to learn, you cease to grow. The more faults you discover and try to fix in your life, the more faults you will get to uncover, and the more you work on these faults, the better you become.

If you are not aware of your faults, and you think you have no faults, you have discovered your first fault. Find the faults in you and fix them, if you can't find it, get sincere help from someone who can help you discover your fault and start looking for ways of getting them fixed. Perfection itself is an imperfection, and faultlessness is a fault. Be yourself, be original, be imperfect it is the real revealer of true beauty, and that is what you were born to be.

Day 338 of wisdom

“Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.”

Malcolm Forbes

Many people pay too much respect to the problems in their lives, they magnify their challenges and minimize their personality, they focus so much on what they are not, which mostly are negative rather than on what they truly are. One who will go far in life, the one who will eventually achieve great success, must be the one who places a premium on who he his, and who he is becoming. Positive self esteem is a very important trait of a successful person, and anyone who can not carry himself appropriately will struggle to succeed.

People sometimes place value on themselves based on other people's perception of their lives, they see themselves through the eyes of another man instead of looking inwards to see who they really are. Life is too short to be lived on another man's terms, if you spend so much time pleasing others, when do you want to do things that will please, and make you happy? When do you want to live the life of your dreams? When will you start to follow your heart? Live your life based on your terms, never allow others people's definition, and estimation of you determine what, and who you become, your life is yours to live, you must live it.

The only person responsible for your life is you, so, what you make of the life you were given is entirely up to you. You have to be strong and definitive in the assessment of who you are and who you are becoming, you must not live anything in the hands of people who do not really matter to you. As M. Scott Peck once said, “Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.” If you do not place a value on who you are, and your time, you will never become anything in life.

Mark Twain once said, “A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” You are the only person who can make you comfortable, you are the only person who should license you to become whatever you want to be, you are the only person who will make you happy. Do not disappoint yourself, do not let yourself down, stand up for yourself and face the challenges that may want to limit you. Never give in to the temptation of satisfying people, it is a path to regret, and a miserable life.

366 days of wisdom (December 02, 2020)

Day 337 of wisdom

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

Carl Jung

A man can be deceived by anything and anyone, anybody can be disappointed at anytime by anyone, but one thing that can never lead one astray is his heart. The heart is the true compass for a man's journey to his promised land, it never deceive nor disappoint, anyone who follows his heart will definitely get to his desired destination no matter how hard, or how long it takes to get there. Within you is where your life vision is birthed, it is where you conceive what you want for your life, and within is the path to that life known.

Getting to your destination will be based majorly on your willingness, and readiness to follow your heart. People can be interested in what you do, what you become, they may want to influence your decisions, and the steps you take, but what will matter most would be how much of your hearts' talk you listen to. Sometimes, what your heart thinks and say may be illogical, it may not be a popular thought, or opinion, but if you truly follow your heart you will never regret your decisions.

When you look outside of yourself you are met with confusion, but when you look within yourself you will see what you should be, you will know where you should go, you will hear how you should go. It is only when you look into the person you are, that you can see the person you should be. Though your today may not truly reflect what your tomorrow will look like, there will always be a path within you that leads to your true person. The consequences of following your heart may not always be the one you want and expect, but it definitely leads to where you should be.

Wake up to the reality of the genuineness and authenticity of your hearts leading, it will never fail you. Your heart will push you to go for the things that seem impossible. As someone once said, “It is impossible, said pride. It is risky, said experience. It is pointless, said reason. Give it a try, whispered the heart” when you feel you have done all you can do, and the noises around drives you into more confusion, relax, stay calm, be quiet, and listen to what your heart is telling you, it truly knows the way and will lead you right.

366 days of wisdom (December 01, 2020)

Day 336 of wisdom

“Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive.”

Matt Cameron

Life is not about just existing, it is beyond sleeping, waking, eating, and just having fun, life is more about making the best use of all the time that you have, it is about making an impact with the way you live, what you do, and how you get things done. Life is a battlefield that requires your full participation, it requires that you get yourself involved in the fight and stand up to whatever may want to limit your advancements to greater achievements. Someone once said, "Life is a game, play it; Life is a challenge, Meet it; Life is an opportunity, Capture it." if you do not use optimally the privileges that life presents to you as challenges, and opportunities you will miss a lot of what is in stock for you.

Sometimes the minor things that come our ways as opportunities eventually turns out to be the greatest things with the greatest impacts in our lives. We must not despise those little and seemingly intangible things, they may make all the difference. As Robert Breault would say, "Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."

If you will not live a life of regrets, if the story of your life will not be that of the should have, could have, and might have, you must be determined to live a full life, a life of activity and impact and not the life of passivity. As Ralph Waldo Emerson would say "All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." You must be ready to be a partaker of the experiments, to be able to live a cumulatively better and productive life. It may not all be easy and rosy but, the essence of life is to live it to the fullest and use it to impact other lives.

Things may not always go your way but, there will be something to be thankful for. Life may come with storms and hurricane, you may be down on your face most of the time, but as long as you can raise your head, see what is in front of you, you can always rise up. No matter how bad life deals with you, focus on the positive things you can get from whatever happens. The more positivity you focus on, the more positivity that will follow you. Never lose sight of the brighter future, never give in the negatives, and you will laugh at last.
