366 days of wisdom (February 29, 2020)

Day 60 of wisdom

“Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world.”

Wayne Dyer.

The world you live in is the world you have created. The universe is governed by certain principles, which can not be changed, altered, or modified, these principles are universal and unbiased.

The law of sowing and reaping says, "what a man sows, that he shall also reap." The implication of this law is that, whatever you do to any man, you will receive, and not only receive, but in multiple folds, because if you plant a seed, it grows into a tree, which ultimately produce hundreds of fruit over a long period of time. So, if a man gives love, he receives love in multiple fold, if he cares for the helpless, and needy, he will receive same when he is in need of help. A man who also gives hostility will get back in return that which he has given.

They say "givers never lack", because they will always receive, and they will always receive, because they always give. Without giving, no one receives. If you want to live happily, make the people around you happy and you will be happy yourself.

If you want to be loved, love others; if you want to receive, give. Create the world you want to live in through your actions, and deeds.

366 days of wisdom (February 28, 2020)

Day 59 of wisdom

“It matters not how a man dies, but how he lives. The act of dying is not of importance, it lasts so short a time.”

Samuel Johnson.

Death is not the end of life, it is a transition into another life. Death is the beginning of an endless journey, which path is determined by how one lives. Life is a gift that must be cherished and properly taken care off, we must live our lives in ways that will make living a joy for others, and not a nightmare, we must live in manners that will make our fellow human live an easier life, we must live a life of value.

Death is inevitable for everyman, and the way one dies matters not, no matter how painful it may be, how one have lived matters the most. The dead are never forgotten by their loved ones, the ones they have positively impacted, the ones they have shown kindness, the ones they have made happy, and made living easier for, they live on in their hearts.

The moment we realize that "life is like a very short visit to a toy shop between birth and death" as scripted by Desmond Morris, we will live life to the full, we will not hold on to anything, but share the joy, and happiness derived from all we possess.

Martin Luther King Jr. said of death, "death is not a period that ends the great sentence of life, but a comma that punctuates it to more lofty significance. Death is not a blind alley that leads the human race into a state of nothingness, but an open door which leads man into life eternal."

Our days on earth are numbered, how do we live our lives?

Day 58 of wisdom

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.”

Pablo Picasso.

Christopher Parker once said, "procrastination is like a credit card: it's a lot of fun until you get the bill." Google dictionary defines procrastination as, the action of delaying or postponing something. 'Procrastination is a thief of time', is a statement so commonly used that it has lost its meaning, we do not give deep thoughts to the key details of that statement; thief, and time.

A thief is someone, or something that takes away valuables belonging to other people, and time is an invaluable asset that when lost can never be regained. It is therefore utter criminality, and ultra insensitivity for us to allow one (thief) to deprive us of the other (time). The late American Author, Entrepreneur, and motivational Speaker, Jim Rohn, said in one of his speeches, "if it's not raining you don't need to fix the roof, if it's raining you can't fix the roof". Procrastination robs one of now, and leave you to regret the future, when it may be too late to do anything to salvage a damaged situation.

Anyone who is determined to succeed, will not allow procrastination to deprive them of their valued, and irreplaceable assets, they therefore put in place measures to always put them in check, in other not to fall victim if procrastination, they set deadlines for tasks, organize themselves, get rid of distractions, incentivise their tasks as a way of encouraging themselves to keep going.

If you will live without regrets tomorrow, you must deal with procrastination today.

366 days of wisdom (February 26, 2020)

Day 57 of wisdom

“A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure.”

Henry Kissinger.

No, diamond is not just a chunk of coal, but both coal and diamond are of same family: carbon. Coal is produced from impure carbon under pressure not far from the earth surface, but diamond on the other hand is produced from very pure carbon under intense pressure, diamonds require a combination of heat (thousands of degrees) and pressure (130,000 atmospheres) that can typically only be found about 90 to 100 miles below the surface of the Earth, deep within the mantle. Most diamonds that are found today were brought to the surface through volcanic eruptions, often violent in nature.

The formation process of human diamonds, follows same  pattern as that of real diamonds. Human diamonds are formed under intense pressure, they are pure in their pursuit of success, and determined to get to the top, they find ways of handling pressure without being crushed under it, they make themselves better everyday by building on their existing bank of knowledge, and as it takes hundreds, if not thousands of years for diamonds to be formed, so does it take time for human diamonds to be made.

Human diamonds don't compare themselves with other people, because they are most likely not made up of same mindset, character, and zeal, they may be in the same field, profession, or career path, but their visions, dreams, and goals in life are not the same. In their pursuit if greatness, human diamonds don't relent, they stay true to the course until they get their desired results.

Coal or diamond, which are you?

Day 56 of wisdom

“The man on top of the mountain didn’t fall there.”

Vince Lombardi.

Getting to the top of a mountain does not happen by accident, one does not just fall there, it is a very daunting task that requires serious, adequate, and deliberate preparation. While climbing a mountain, if care is not taken, and absolute concentration is not given to the climbing process, the  climber (mountaineer) may loose grip and fall to base of the mountain which may be very deadly.

Achieving success is like climbing a mountain, it is no mean feat, it requires lots of hard work, determination, commitment, and loyalty to the course, and confidence in your ability to succeed. Successful people achieve success by not giving up even when things are not interesting, going their way, or even getting enough encouragements from friends, and families.

It takes no stress nor effort to fail, the only action to be undertaken for failure to be assured is to do nothing, failure is cheap, and easy, just as it takes nothing for one to fall from the top of a mountain, to the bottom; as easy as demolishing a building that have taken months or even years to build, so is failure easy to achieve, if not easier.

In your pursuit of success, stubbornness could be a necessary virtue, because you will  need it to keep pushing, when discouragement comes. You must be dogged, focused, and committed to the process if you must get to the top of the mountain. Not everybody gets to the mountain top, so, not everybody will succeed, but you must strive to get there.

You don't get to the top by wishing, you get there by climbing.

366 days of wisdom (February 24, 2020)

Day 55 of wisdom

“A ship is always safe at shore but that is not what it’s built for.”

Albert Einstein.

Doing nothing is always a safe  for anyone, it involves no risk, and it does not take anything away from you, nothing at all, but you do not also get anything, and that is not what you are made for. Staying safe deprives you of exhibiting the great potentials you possess within you, it deprives the world the privilege of enjoying that which you could produce.

Not taking risks, is the biggest risk that can ever be taken, but you must not take risk for the sake of risk taking, but take calculated risks. Facebook founder, and one time youngest billionaire in the world, Mark Zuckerberg once said, "in a world that is changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks", so, if you must succeed at anything you must take the risk of doing something.

A ship is always safe at shore, but it was made to sail; a fisherman must launch into the deep of the sea, if he must catch any fish from the sea; a plane is safe in its hanger, but it was made to fly; so, if you don't leave your comfort zone, and launch out, you will not succeed, your potentials will not be reached.

You are made for greatness, move out of your comfort zone, pursue you dreams, and you are sure to succeed.

366 days of wisdom (February 23, 2020)

Day 54 of wisdom

“Happiness is something that multiplies when it is divided.”

Paulo Coelho.

A Swedish proverb says, "when you share sorrow it divides; when you share happiness it multiplies." Happiness is free, but it comes at a cost, you must be consciously determined to have it. No one holds the key to another persons happiness no matter who he or she is, not even your parents, spouse, or siblings, your are solely responsible for your happiness.

Happiness is contagious, and can easily be spread when you are close to someone who is, and is always happy. Though sorrow, and sadness are also contagious, the truth is when either (happiness, or sorrow) are being shared there is either a multiplier, or divisive effect. When you share sorrow with the right person it divides, because you receive consolation, and encouragement, but whoever you share happiness with, it multiplies.

Sorrow is not a good thing to be shared, but the good in sharing sorrow is that it reduces when it is being shared, the burden if sorrow is too heavy for an individual to bear so, it is better shared to get reduced. Happiness on the other hand dilutes sorrow, so we should always ensure we  spread it far and wide.

The world needs more happy people, so, share your sorrows with people, and let's have it reduced, likewise should we share happiness, and let's make it multiply.

Happiness is free, don't hoard it, share it.

366 days of wisdom (February 22, 2020)

Day 53 of wisdom

“A person with a new idea is a crank until the idea succeeds.”

Mark Twain.

Ideas are products of man's imagination, and is a draft of what could be. An idea is only of value when it is been executed, and a man with an idea is only successful when his idea is turned into a tangible, and productive solution for his society.

People don't care how many ideas you have, and how nice those ideas look or sound, what matters most is that the idea is put to action, and it yields success. No one takes you serious until the execution of your idea prove it to them that you are.

Your idea is your brain child, it is a preview of the great possibilities that can be birthed through you, you have to ensure it comes to life. You must do all it takes, you must give your all, and give your best to make it a reality.

There are countless people who have very brilliant, possible life changing ideas, but have refused to bring them to life, some ideas have gone to the grave with the ideators, they have not given the world the privilege to be beneficiaries of their awesome and marvelous ideas.

If you have got an idea, you are a crank, a comedian, a jester, until your idea proves otherwise. So, don't justify people's opinion of you, rather prove them wrong, by working vigorously on your idea to ensure it materializes into a beneficial product to the world.

366 days of wisdom (February 21, 2020)

Day 52 of wisdom

“Good people are good because they have come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.”

William Saroyan.

Failure teaches us a lot more than success can ever do. Most of the things we do after  achieving success were learnt during times of failure, but are mostly developed upon due to our experience of failure. Failure is one of the best teachers we can have as humans, it may not instruct us on what to do, but it does what not to do.

We become wiser, and better through failing, but not quitting, the more we fail, the better we become, so long as we are bent on succeeding. Olakunle Soriyan once said, "there has to be foolishness for wisdom to have value", same could be said of failure, without failure, success would not be valued.

It is often said that, wisdom comes with old age, but the truth is that, wisdom is gathered through the failures of youthful age, and becomes very pronounced and useful at old age. For someone who is determined to succeed, failure, no matter how often it comes should not hinder one from pursuing his dreams, and visions, but be a propellant towards success.

Although, success is our goal, failure is very valuable, and is very important on our journey to the fulfilment of our dreams.

Do not despise failures, they are the stepping stones to success.

366 days of wisdom (February 20, 2020)

Day 51 of wisdom

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”

Joseph Campbell.

For every new endeavour man intends to embark upon, there are always false evidences appearing real (FEAR) trying to stop one from taking critical decisions that can lead to progress. The earlier one realizes that this phenomenon that makes ones heart skip when he is about to do something is just a mirage the better.

As powerful as it may seem, fear is just a compilation of lies, and should not hinder us from living the life of our dreams, fear is just a flexible veil, a curtain between you and your desired life, it is without any real strength to disrupt your possession of the treasures you seek.

If you would live the life you desire, if you must lay hold on the treasures you seek, you have to face your fear heads on, you must be determined to challenge whatever may be an hindrance to your progress. The life you seek is on the other side of fear, cross over and possess.

Have faith in your abilities, for faith breeds courage, and courage helps you forge ahead despite the obstacles, and oppositions, faith is the only other force that is more powerful than fear.

Have faith, overcome fear.

Day 50 of wisdom

“Imagination is the key and light that opens and brighten up the future.”

Ogunjobi Kamikun.

Albert Einstein once said "imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions." Hope is an offspring of imagination, in itself, hope, is a belief, feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. Without it (imagination), the world would not have reached the heights of development it has attained over the years.

Everything that exists on the surface of the earth was once inexistent, even man was an imagination of God before he was created; the Wright brothers imagined that man could fly in the air at a time when nothing of such existed, but today, man could fly thousands of miles far from his location in an airplane.

Imagination has birthed every form of technological inventions, and advancements that now makes living easier for man, and aids the swift and effective execution of mans activities. Mohammed Ali summarized that, "a man without imagination has no wings", and without wings, no man can fly into territories of achievement. We must dare to be imaginative, for our imaginations produces our desired future.

Imagination is the future, live out your imagination (your future) not your history.

366 days of wisdom (February 18, 2020)

Day 49 of wisdom

“Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.”

John Dewey.

The oxford dictionary defines 'education' as the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university, an alternative definition by the same dictionary is 'an enlightening experience', but the most accurate, and suitable definition of education is 'life'. Life in itself is a process in which education is a critical constituent.

As one grows through life, education occurs naturally, and your response to the teachings of life determines your growth rate, and what you get out of life. One must be attentive to the process, learn from the experiences, learn from mistakes, and avoid its repetition. As much as possible one must be ready to accept the responsibilities that life brings our way, for through them we become better.

We must be committed to the lifelong process of learning, and becoming better than we were the previous day, we must be engaged in the social growth of ourselves, and the our society.

Education is not schooling, education is living.

Day 48 of 366

"Money can buy you the quality and quantity of what you wear, but your vision determines how you wear it."

Fela Durotoye.

You may be financially capable of buying a lot of quality clothing, but your vision, and purpose for your life will determine how you wear those clothes. Your inner being will be reflected by your outward expression of dressing. There is a popular saying that, "you are addressed the way you are dressed." People will address you based on what they perceive of you through your dressing.

Your dressing is an integral part of who you are, and it is also affected by what you want to become, and where you are going. Once you have a direction for your life you need to start dressing for where you are going, rather than where you are. One who wants to become a lawyer, cannot be dressed like one whose dream is to become an hip hop artist; one who dreams of becoming a human resource manager, cannot be dressed like one who wants to become an engineer.

Fela Durotoye also said, "at the entrance of your future, dress code admits". When you get to the point where you will be inducted into the corridor of your dreams, your dress code determines your admission.

You are dressed for where you are, you need to dressed for where you are going.

366 days of wisdom (February 16, 2020)

Day 47 of 366

"Non nobis solum nati sumus." (Not for ourselves alone are we born.)

Marcus Tullius Cicero.

The world would not have been this beautiful if everyone who have passed through it have lived for themselves. The contributions of people over the centuries have created a better, beautiful, more convenient, and pleasurable world to live in. We were born to be vine dressers, and keepers of this vineyard (the world) and not just it, but also the people in it.

We were not born for ourselves alone, but for the world, we were born to show love to those who need it, to care for those who need it, to raise those who have fallen, to feed the hungry, to cloth the naked, to rescue the bound, for these are the essence of our existence. We need to be responsible for a better world, we must leave the world a better place than we met it, and ensure its people breath better because of us. For without that, we would have lived in vain.

An old song says, "Sing a song, spread some cheers, there are sad and lonely people everywhere; be a friend, show some love, it will lift them from the dungeon of despair.
Show a little bit of love and kindness, never go along with hatred's blindness, take a little time to reach for joy and wear am happy face, sing a little bit when the days are dreary, give a little help to a friend who's weary, that is the way to make the world a happy place."

366 days of wisdom (February 15, 2020)

Day 46 of 366

“The first and worst of all frauds is to cheat one's self."

Phillip James Bailey.

You are responsible for everything that happens in your life, what you put into your body as food you get back on your face, and body, they determine how you grow, and how you look like, they determine the functionality of your system. Exercises also determines a lot on your body structure, and your effectiveness.

To deprive your body of the good it needs for growth and functionality, is to cheat yourself, to deprive yourself of the achievement of your potentials is to defraud yourself of greatness. There is nothing worst than not giving all that it requires into making yourself a better version of yourself, making yourself better than what you were yesterday, ensuring that you achieve the success you desire.

If you must become what you wish to  become, you must yield to the advice given by  Polonius to his son Laertes, in a play written by Shakespeare saying, "... to thine own self be true...". You must be true to yourself in all your dealings, you must give yourself wholeheartedly to your purpose, and its achievement, you must do all it will take to ensure you get to your peak.

It will not only be a loss, and injustice to you, if you do not fulfill your potentials, it will also be a deprivation of the privilege of fulfillment to those who depend on you, and your visions for survival, and fulfillment.

Do not cheat yourself, for if you do you have cheated the world.

366 days of wisdom (February 14, 2020)

Day 45 of wisdom

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

Jesus Christ.

Love is a necessary food for a man’s emotional being if he must remain whole, and in a sound mind. A man that is deprived of love will not grow; he will remain emotionally retarded, and socially incapacitated. Lao Tzu once said, “Love is of all passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously, the head, the heart, and the senses.

Lao Tzu also said, “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage”. There is a height of courage one grows to when you know that someone loves you deeply. You don’t feel pressured, or the need to remain in your shell when you are around people who you are sure deeply love you.

Love is the reason the universe was created, love is the reason the world have been populated, love is the reason the world have not been torn into pieces, love is the root of our existence.

True love cannot be gotten outside its source, GOD. No one can love truly if he does not know God; Jesus Christ commanded that, we love our neighbors even as we love ourselves. God’s love for human was the reason he sent his son to redeem the world from its depraved state, so he can have a relationship with man.

Love knows no boundaries, it does not discriminate, and love is the perfection of all human relationships. Love truly, live fully.

Day 44 of wisdom

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”

Martin Luther.

In this fast paced world of daily inventions, innovations, and high level of daily hustle and bustle, it is easy to be selfish, self-centered, and unconcerned about any other persons well-being; it is easy to think, and feel you are here only for yourself, that you were born only to become someone in life without any reasonable positive impact on your environment, and the people around you, but this is an absolutely false perception about life, and a wrong way to look at life.

We must live a life of impact always, no matter the situation around us at any particular time, our lives should bring convenience, and comfort to the people that encounters us everyday. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” success is not what you become, but how you impact others.

Doing good should be a part of our daily routine, even if people will despise us for doing it, even if it seems inconsequential to do good, we should still do it anyway, for it is the true nature of sane, and successful beings.

It is good to do good, do good, and reap good.

Day 43 of 366

"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition - they somehow already know what you truly want to become."

Steve Jobs.

Our hearts are the true compass of our lives, they direct us on the path to fulfillment, and happiness. Our heart knows what we really want to be in life, and what will make it (heart) happy.

It takes courage for one to follow his heart, because the heart will only tell us what we really, and truly deserve, and most times, what we deserve is usually better, and greater than what we think we deserve.

We have to trust our heart, and intuition, for they give us the true direction to purposeful achievement in life, and will never fail us. If we must achieve that which we pursue, we must confidently move in the direction the heart leads, for that is the only guarantee for a happy life.

Going against your heart, is doing yourself big injustice, it will mean you are doing less than what you truly deserve. Most men who have achieved tremendous success today, and in days gone by, are men who followed their hearts fully, and were devoted to achieving the desires of their heart.

Your heart knows what you want, and deserve, listen to what it tells you, and go after it with all your heart.

Day 42 of 366

"Don’t wish it were easier. Wish you were better."

Jim Rohn.

Life is not fair, nor easy, and it takes the unfair, and uneasy to go through life successfully. If one must become something in life, or make something out of life, one must be determined to be a better version of himself.

To every action, there is an equal, and opposite reaction, and to every force, there is an equal and opposite force. If you must overpower, and overcome the challenges thrown at you by life, you must be better prepared to face those challenges, you must be really ready for the toughness of life.

Life doesn't get easier, it only gets tougher by the day, and the tougher you become, the easier life gets for you. If you will become better, you must  make intentional and deliberate efforts to become better, by investing in yourself, and developing yourself through, trainings, reading books, attending conferences, and seminars that will improve you.

An easy life is an empty, and unlived life, but a tough, difficult, and uneasy life, is a life truly lived.

Life doesn't becomes easier until you get tougher.

Day 41 of 366

”It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.”

Denis Waitley.

"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he", so, the thought of a man's heart are the determinants of what he becomes. There is nothing a man desires in his heart that he cannot get, or become, there is no force on earth that is powerful enough to hold a man back from achieving his dreams, but the thought of his heart.

When your mind conceives an image for your future, it tells of the attainable possibilities awaiting manifestation. If you must become great, and successful, you must see yourself as a success, even before you become successful, you must see yourself as great, before you become great, or else you will never become what you want to be.

Long before the legendary boxer, Mohammed Ali became great, he already regarded himself as the greatest, he saw himself as the greatest, and he eventually became the greatest, and is still the greatest boxer that ever lived.

It is not who you are that deters you from succeeding, it is who you think you are not. Tell yourself you are what you want to be, and you will become it.

Day 40 of 366

"A happy life consists not in the absence, but in the mastery of hardships."

Helen Keller.

Life may be hard, and difficult, it may not give you that which you have always desired to have, but these are not the deprivation of your happiness. Happiness is a choice, no matter what you are passing through, you can still choose to be happy.

Though, there be hardship, your mastery of this hardship determines your level of happiness. Your reaction to difficult situations determines how you come out of that situation.

Happiness cannot be gotten from an external source, it can only be generated, and derived from within us. There's a saying that, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonades out of it". In the face of harsh and difficult situations, you can still choose to be happy, because happiness keeps you going, even in difficult times.

A happy life, is not a trouble free life, but a life that has learnt how to deal with troubles and difficulties, it is a life that smiles despite the storm, it is a life that says, regardless of how hard things may become I will still be happy.

Choose happiness, choose life.

What are your dreams and visions in life? What goals do you hope to achieve? What plans do you have for the future? No matter what your answers might be, there is either an existence, or an avenue for creation of all that your heart desires, but not without hard work, determination, perseverance, and consistency. Whatever we can conceive in our minds to achieve, if we pursue with our strength, we will achieve.

Success does not perch in the garden of the lazy, nor rest on the shoulder of the feeble minded, but it abides the the tent of the determined, dedicated, unrelenting, and persevering hard worker. If you must achieve the extraordinary, you must be willing, and ready to go the extra mile, for "there are no traffic jams on the extra mile", and only the determined are found there.

Quitting is not an option, if we must be successful, because, "quitters never win and winners never quit". You have gone thus far for a reason, you must go a bit further for same reason. You don't grind to quit, you grind to succeed. Success awaits you on the other side of the river, if you look at the crocodiles, the sharks, and the snakes, you may never get there, but you must be determined to achieve that which you have set out to achieve.

The fulfilment of your dreams, and visions, exists on the other side of fear, look at your fears in the eyes and move forward towards your dreams, for that is the real courage, and life paves way for the courageous.

Don't settle until you achieve your dreams.

366 days of wisdom (February 7, 2020)

Day 38 of 366

“Don't downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny.”

Stuart Scott.

Dreams are the visions of the future, they are the creations of our imagination. Our dreams are meant to be bigger than us, and mightier than our current reality, if they aren't, then it's not worthy of being regarded as a dream.

Dreams take time to actualise, but it does not mean they cannot be achieved. Some dreams does not come to pass in the lifetime of the dreamer, these dreams are generational dreams, they are always bigger than the dreamer, and live for generations after the dreamer is gone. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. did not live to experience the fulfillment of his declared dreams of August 28, 1963, but the dream, and its reality lives on.

Our current realities may not be up to the standard of our dreams, but we must not downgrade our dreams to fit into those realities, rather we must upgrade our convictions in our ability, and capacity to achieve those dreams. We must not look down on ourselves but look up, and look inside of us to extract, and activate that which will enable us actualise our dreams.

Don't just dream, dream big, for "if you can dream it, you can achieve it.

366 days of wisdom (February 6, 2020)

Day 37 of 366

"Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together."

Marilyn Monroe.

Life is good and interesting, but life does not always remain rosy. We experience ups, and downs in the journey of life, at times, life takes us to the mountain top, and sometimes bring us to the valley, all these are the true experiences of a well lived life. A life that is lived without the ups and downs, without the mountain top moments, and the valley base moments is probably a life that is not well lived, that life did not truly experience life.

At some point in our lives, when we experience a falling apart of everything we ever lived for, everything we have gathered over time, and everything we are hoping come into shape, it may not be for absolute destruction, but the birthing of a new life. Sometimes, things fall  apart in our lives, so that better things can fall together.

Before a Chick can come to life, the oval shaped, beautiful, and fragile egg must give way, it must crack and fall apart for a new life to begin. The falling apart of the eggshell is not the end of the life of the egg, but the birth of a new, more valuable and more precious life (a Chick).

Never take falling apart as an end, but the beginning of a new life, a new era, a better tomorrow, a more precious beginning.

366 days of wisdom (February 5, 2020)

Day 36 of 366

“The longer it takes to happen, the more you’ll appreciate it when it finally does.”

Inky Johnson.

Every man's pursuit in life  is a successful ending, and in that pursuit of success a considerable time is expected for the process to yield maturity. The determinant of the waiting time will be, how big your dreams and visions are. Just like an Elephant has a longer gestation period before it can birth its offspring than that of a dog, so does the dreams, and visions of a big thinker takes longer time than that of a small thinker.

When we have big dreams, and goals for our lives, the process to achieving those goals are more difficult, more complex, and takes longer time, but we must be determined not to quit the process until we have achieved our dreams, because it is not the end result that ultimately matters, but what we become in the process. The process produces in us better versions of who we were before we started the journey, and when the breakthrough finally arrives, we will appreciate it more.

The longer the battle, the sweeter the victory; the longer the waiting, the sweeter the arrival. A gift gotten on a platter of gold, cannot be appreciated like a treasure dug from a fiery cave. When you have laboured, fought, and worked very hard to achieve a thing over a long time, you will appreciate that thing more when you get it, than if it was an easy ride.

The best things in these world are not easy to get, if you must get the best you must be ready to work, and wait; to go through the process and be true to it; you must be determined not to quit, because quitters never win, and winners never quit.

Tribute to my Dad

Five years on

Five years on, in the bosom of the Almighty,
Five years on,I thought you would be back soon,
Five years on, so many things has happened,
Five years on, I still feel, but miss your smile,
Five years on, three of four are graduates,
Five years on, your words are still fresh,
Five years on, they have kept us going,
Five years on, your legacies never die,
Five years on, just like yesterday,
Five years on, seems  like forever,
Five years on, the memory lingers on,
Five years on, though tears roll down my eyes, my heart rejoice because, you are in glory,
Five years on, we would see again one day,
Five years on, without my father, my mentor, my friend,
Five years on, daddy, you are always in our hearts.

366 days of wisdom (February 4, 2020)

Day 35 of 366

“What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”

Helen Keller.

There are various gifts we receive from God, chief among them are, the gift of life, and the gift of family, and loved ones. these gifts defines us, and how we live our lives. We are so attached to these gifts, that anything that happens to them happens to us, we are emotionally, mentally, physiologically, socially, and psychologically attached to them.

Sometimes, these gifts are taken away from us through death, and we may never remain the same again. We become so deeply affected by their departure because, we have so deeply enjoyed their presence, their love, their care, and their life, we have deeply been part of each other, so, it feels  like a part of us has been severed, but yet we live with the pain.

Anne Lamott once said, “You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that. you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news.
They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly — that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”

Our departed ones may not be here again, but there memory lingers on in our hearts, they live on within us, they are never lost.

We should also remember, that, just as they have  gone we will also be gone one day, and when we are gone, what memories? What legacies? Will we leave behind. Let us endeavour to live each day like it was our last.

366 days of wisdom (February 3, 2020)

Day 34 of 366

"Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life."

Les Brown.

Life is an adventure, but it does not always come with a map. The path to the future is uncharted and virgin for everyone, it must not be approached in a rash, but the map should be carefully drawn out by the adventurer. Your goals will determine your path, and will show you that which is possible for your life.

As a map is important to a Voyager's journey, so are your goals to you on your journey to the future you desire. You have to be clear about your goals, dreams, and visions, they show you the path in which you should follow, with them, your journey will be easier.

Goal setting is very important to the success story of any man, and planning those goals is almost half the journey, in planning, you must consider the workability of your plans. Your plans must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time bound), a goal that satisfies these metrics, will surely, and definitely bring you to your destination within time. When the going gets tough, and the journey becomes difficult to continue, your goals motivates you to keep moving and to never loose focus.

There lies great possibilities ahead, and only a well thought out plan will reveal these possibilities.

A man without a goal, is like a voyager without a map. List out your goals, draw out plan and your journey is halfway completed.

366 days of wisdom (February 2, 2020)

Day 33 of 366

"There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up."

John Holmes.

By helping others, we make the world a better place. We were not made for ourselves, but for the world, we were made to be salt and light in the world, we were made to make the world better than it was before we arrived.

On your arrival to the planet earth, all who saw you, and heard about your arrival were happy, and rejoiced, your parents and entire family was happy, not because you came with anything, but because you were born for that; to give joy.

Helping people, reaching out to the needy, helping people out of difficulties, and lifting them up, not only bring joy to their hearts, it also gladdens your heart and gives you a sense of fulfilment. When you become a source if joy to others, you become joyful yourself. It has been said that, "what you give, is what you have" so, if you want to be happy, and joyful, give joy, and happiness to people who need it.

Making people happy may not be giving of money, or materials things, but a simple and little act of kindness. It may be a word if encouragement, an advice, a smile, or a little assistance, it may not even take up to five minutes to render, but it will go a long way, may even last a lifetime in the life of the receiver.

Make the world a better place, be a joy giver, and your heart will be filled with joy.
